Dear Parents and Carers,

Term 4, Week 5

Board Meeting

The next Meeting of the Yuluma PS Board is to be held on 20th November at 3.15 – 4.30.  This meeting is open to the wider school community. If you wish to observe the meeting please contact the chair Wendy Whalan or principal Kim Pitts-Hill prior to the meeting .


All parents are encouraged to be vigilant about how children get to and from school, so as to ensure safe travel.  Ongoing discussion with your child about how to avoid unwanted attention or how to respond in circumstances that appear suspicious is an important part of helping your child mature.  Be Alert not Alarmed.


Today students with outstanding charges will be bringing home statements.

Many families have completed their voluntary contributions and charges and we encourage all families to support the school in a fair and equitable manner.

Please pay outstanding charges by 30 November.

If you need to set up a payment plan please contact our Principal as soon as possible.

Swimming Lessons

Will be during weeks 7  and 8 ( 20 November to 01 December).  Payment is $52 per child is due by 17th November.


The Department of Education supports students in many ways, one of which includes scholarships for students entering high school.

Eligibility criteria and information on how to apply can be found at: http://www.education.wa.edu.au/home/detcms/navigation/education/secondary-school/additional-learning-opportunities/scholarships/  An online submission process is used for lodging most applications. Instructions are available on the website.


20th  Year Tea Towels

Can be ordered through the P&C.

Our 20th Anniversary Fete will be held on Saturday, November 18th from 2-5pm on the school oval. This is a larger scale event open to the wider community which as you can imagine, will take a fair amount of help to make a success. There will be many stalls on the day which will need to be run by our school families. Any parents/carers who volunteer will receive ONE per family free access on the day to all the inflatables. If you are able to volunteer your time, wish to hold a stall, have a prize/raffle donation or are able to help out in any other way, please contact our fete coordinator Tara Christides on tchristides@live.com.au.

The P&C are seeking donations for the Fete.  These are as follows:

  • Chocolate bars/blocks, bags of lollies
  • Hamper items – sweet/savoury foods, drinks such as coffees/teas/cordial, stuffed toys (new), candles, etc
  • Cartons of coke – all varieties (coke, coke zero, diet coke)
  • Juice boxes – any flavour/brand
  • Bric-a-brac – good condition items only, no clothing please
  • Books – novels and children’s books – good condition only

Donations can be left at the office or delivered to the Uniform Shop.
