Message from the Principal

Welcome to Yuluma Primary School.

Yes we welcome you to our school because you can join us in our quest. Yuluma has a long history of successful educational achievement across a broad range of students and families. You could be the next person to help fly our flag, building on what Yuluma has accomplished.

From the outside, Yuluma has an impressive array of well designed architecture and buildings that facilitate our learning programs. On the inside we have a rigorous cable and wireless computer network with Mac Air notebooks, Interactive Whiteboards and digital learning programs. But most importantly, our community is alive.

The parents, students and teachers that make up our school are keenly involved in promoting the effectiveness of student learning. We go out of our way to ensure that students engage in specific learning tasks and behaviours that promote high achievement, agreed values, positive attitudes and strong skills. Our teachers work collaboratively to develop a holistic view of each child’s learning. Teachers develop their own skills in technology, pedagogy and curriculum in order to model, lead and explicitly teach.

Yuluma is working with the Western Australian Curriculum, and targets literacy and numeracy as our prime foci. Plans, reports and brochures are available on this website to support your understanding of our intentions. Other areas of interest include our nationally accredited Japanese Language program, our resident Art Specialist program and our Music and instrumental program. We have an excellent library and sporting facilities, a 3 year old pre-kindergarten program and a Chaplaincy service. Our sustainability program involves recycling, worms, herbs and vegetables.

You are welcome at our school, and if you are not already enrolled, please come on down to have a look around and meet us. Find out what Yuluma can do for you.

Kind regards,

Kim Pitts-Hill
Principal
